Question: “If you travel and are away from your blender what can you do to make your shakes?”
Here’s a tip for you…
Measure out the correct amounts of each powder (SP Complete, Whey Protein, Whole Food Fiber) into a single snack bag for ease of transport. Pick up a cold 16.9 or 20oz bottle of water (spring water if available) and drink half of it, leaving the remaining 8-10 ounces for your shake. When you are ready for your shake, pour the contents of the snack bag into the water bottle. If you are worried about spilling, you can cut one corner of the bag, effectively creating a funnel. Shake vigorously and enjoy!
How Should I Feel Today?
Today will likely be a continuation of Day 2. If you are feeling a bit awkward and not 100%, this is not uncommon. Hang in there, as this should dissipate in a day or so. If you have a coffee withdrawal headache, go back and look at our suggestion on Day 1 under “How should I be feeling today?” Don’t be surprised if old symptoms you haven’t experienced in years begin to return during the program. They should be of short duration and are considered a beneficial sign that your body is purging toxins and repairing underlying issues with your health. Old injuries or conditions may resurface for anywhere from an hour to a day or more. This theory is known as Homotoxicology and was developed by a German medical doctor named Dr. Hans-Heinrich Reckeweg. Your weight on the scale will vary a bit, but have no fear, this is completely normal. Don’t stress over whether you can see a difference on the scale yet. Getting to Know Your Supplements
Did you know that Gymnema (possibly one of the products Dr. Carlson added into your program if you crave carbohydrates) is an Indian Herb used for over 2,000 years ago and literally means “Sugar Destroyer” (Gymnema Sylvestre) This makes this herb especially effective in reducing carbohydrate cravings and is a helpful addition to the 21 Day Purification Program. Remember, don’t cheat… hang in there! Eating even a small amount of “unapproved food” can cause inflammation and slow down the results you will receive from this detoxification. If you are getting too fatigued, make sure you are eating frequently and then try increasing the amount of Whey Protein in your shakes. Also, as always, drink plenty of water. This will help clear toxins faster and avoid constipation.
Recipe of the Day
Garlic-Chili Roasted Broccoli
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon grill seasoning blend or grill creations
1 large head of broccoli, cut into thin long spears
Directions: Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Place olive oil, garlic, chili powder and grill seasoning in the bottom of a large bowl and add the broccoli spears. Coat broccoli evenly and place on a large nonstick baking sheet. Roast broccoli until ends are crisp and brown and stalks are just tender, approximately 15 minutes.
