Pregnancy and Neo-natal Development

Infertility has become an increasing problem in the U.S. and has become an increasingly popular topic. According to the CDC, about 10% of women in the U.S. ages 15-44 experience difficulties getting pregnant and staying pregnant. In vitro fertilization treatments average about $17,000 with a success rate of less than 1/3.  Did you know that chiropractic can help with infertility?  By correcting subluxations in the spine, proper neuronal flow can be returned to the reproductive organs.  The uterus and ovaries are innervated by the T12 nerve roots.  The cervix and structures below it are in turn innervated by the S2 nerve roots.  Not only does your nervous system directly control these reproductive organs, it also influences secretion of vital reproductive hormones through your hypothalamus and pituitary glands. These hormones are in charge of regulating menstrual cycles, uterine tone, and supporting the growing baby.

When subluxations are corrected and proper neuronal flow is returned, easier pregnancies will occur.  Labor time is often decreased and pre-partum health is greatly improved. A study concluded that women treated throughout their first pregnancy had 24% shorter labor times than those who did not receive treatment. Those treated during their second or third pregnancy experienced 39% shorter labor time.
